Get Involved with CLA
Welcome the Class of 2012
As you may be aware, over the past few years CLA has become increasingly competitive in attracting more and more outstanding high school students. You can play a vital role in encouraging these promising scholars to join the fall freshman class.
The CLA Alumni Society is looking for alumni like you to make welcome calls/e-mails to Minnesota high school seniors who have been admitted to CLA but have yet to decide whether to enroll in the fall freshman class.
With the help of alumni like you, CLA was able to recruit one of the brightest classes to enter the college. Have a look at some of the statistics for the Class of 2010:
> 85% graduated in the top 25% of their high school class
> 34% ranked in the top 10% of their high school class
> 25.3 is the average ACT score; 25% scored 28 or higher
Yours is the voice of someone who has been there. Your welcome will help convey to these prospective freshmen what we already know: that the College of Liberal Arts is an outstanding place to be.

How you can participate
We are offering two options to alumni interested in participating in this year’s outreach campaign to admitted students—(1) a training session on campus, and (2) training materials provided electronically.
(1) We invite you to enjoy dinner and a brief orientation where you’ll have the opportunity to meet fellow alumni volunteers and receive a packet of materials, including a customized list of admitted students for you to contact.

(2) If you are not able to join us, we also welcome you to receive orientation materials electronically. We will provide: an outreach campaign overview, a sample calling script, an e-mail template, answers to frequently asked questions and other key information for students, and a list of admitted students for you to call. The lists are created by matching admitted students with alumni based on geographic location, academic area and professional interests.
