How did your student experience with CLA shape you as a person and/or professional?

As a speech-communications major, I learned the power of words. I try to see and hear the authentic message from people I interact with personally and professionally.

Why did you become involved with the CLA Alumni Society?

My son, Paul (Journalism, ’05) started at the U in 2001. Coincidentally, I received a luncheon invitation to meet with other Speech-Comm grads and Dean Rosenstone. It was very interesting and energizing to hear the Dean speak. I realized that I would have some time to volunteer in support of U. The CLA Alumni Society extended a very warm welcome and made it easy for me to continue participating. My husband and I have enjoyed meeting other alums at the events and sharing with others how wonderful the U of M is.
