Changes for 2007/08
During 2007/08, the college asks that units request letters of application and curricula vitae electronically, within the online employment system. Applicants will apply for a position by completing a personal profile and optional EOAA demographic information, and attaching a letter of application and curriculum vitae electronically within the system. Applicants may be directed to submit additional materials, e.g., letters of recommendation and publications, directly to the unit, either at the time of initial application or as requested later, depending on unit practice and disciplinary norms.
The college will review candidate applications and curricula vitae online, eliminating the need for paper copies. The college also will utilize applicant demographic reports generated by the online system, eliminating the need for hand tabulation of this data.
Units electing to receive letters of application and curricula vitae by US Mail or other means will be required provide paper copies of requisite application materials at each stage of the pool approval process, as before. These units also will be required to instruct applicants to visit the online employment site to "apply" for the position by submitting name/address/phone/email and optional demographic information. All candidates must be accounted for in the online system to be considered for a faculty appointment at the University of Minnesota, even if they elect not to provide the optional demographic information.
