Annual Reviews of Chairs/Directors, Regular Faculty, and P/A Staff
Materials pertaining to the annual review of chairs/directors, the annual review of faculty performance, and the annual review of academic professional and administrative (P/A) staff are due in the Office of the Associate Dean for Faculty, 212 Johnston Hall, as indicated.
Annual reviews of chairs/directors, regular faculty, and P&A staff, shall be conducted in accordance with existing University policies and procedures, and within standard collegiate and unit guidelines and practices.

The University requires that written performance evaluations be prepared annually for all academic administrators in 93XX classifications, which includes chairs and directors. In the College of Liberal Arts, the annual review of chairs and directors is conducted by the unit’s merit-review committee, which prepares a written report to the Dean regarding the performance of the chair/director in four areas: administration, teaching, research, service.

Annual Reviews of Faculty Performance – 24 March 2008
Faculty performance is reviewed following unit merit review processes already in place, in light of the goals and expectations of the unit. The annual review is used for salary adjustment and faculty development, and occurs regardless of the nature of the merit pool. Faculty activity reports and curricula vitae must be submitted for all regular faculty, including tenure-track and tenured faculty, chairs and directors, and faculty not in residence for any portion of the academic year.
Effective spring 2008, all faculty activity reports and curricula vitae must be submitted electronically. FARs and CVs should be submitted as separate files; pdf attachments strongly preferred. Send all documents to clafclty@umn.edu.

Annual Reviews of P/A Staff – 24 March 2008
Written performance evaluations must be prepared annually for academic professional and administrative (P/A) employees holding 50%-time and above appointments of nine-months or longer.
